"Marriage in and of itself is not wrong"

From a comment left on A.N.Other blog

Captain Sensible writes: What does this extract from a comment say about contemporary Christianity that someone felt the need to say this in the first place?

It's because they forget this verse:

"I Cor 7:28 But and if thou marry, thou hast NOT sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath NOT sinned."

I think it's because they forget a lot of verses in the Bible, David!
Utter madness that we are even having these discussions in the first place. I almost can't take it seriously any more, which is bad because it is still a serious problem - as the silly comment shows.
I suppose I am feeling that there is only so many times you can argue that the earth is round, before throwing your hands up in despair.
(Come to think of it though, I am not sure I really could argue that the world is round particularly well...Thankfully, this blog isn't about that!)

Well...that verse is in the same chapter of I Corinthians that is used to teach GOS. So it seems to be the most appropriate.

I know this is kinda off topic, but it may not be:

Arguing that the world is round is quite simple - so much so that the ancients had proof before their very eyes. - the earth's round shadow on the moon!

Sometimes the truth is simple, such as the NEED for almost everyone to marry!
