Good GCSE results! Cause for girls to celebrate, or have they somehow kissed marriage goodbye?

Captain Sensible writes: Praise God that the girls that did well in their GCSE exams, announced today, do not live in some parts of America!
There, no doubt, the likes of the now infamous "Farmer Tom" would be harshly scolding them for studying and working hard at school.
Unbeknown to them, this apparently makes some (some!) Christian "men" think they are not marriable, because if they go on to get a degree and a good job, they are obviously then a "feminist" (and that actually means a very extreme form of man-hating, marriage-rejecting feminism that barely even exists outside our churches!) and so will not make good wives and mothers.
Shameful.

Yep. It's important to realise that people not getting married in the church is sometimes related to snotty, immature attitudes like this. I wonder if this is related to the relative lack of 1-2-1 discipling in British churches. People can go to a large church and just get away with fashioning a spirituality according to their level of (im)maturity.
The idea of grace in the minds of too many Christians has been distorted to what Dietrich Bonhoeffer called 'cheap grace'.Too many people think grace means other people must accept me just as I am and that I am not required to change and grow up. So you see some Christian men childishly insisting that Christian women must accept them even if they have very poor social skills and awareness compared to other men of the same age, whilst simultaneously only going for women who are more socially adept and grown-up than they are. Some Christian women are like this too.
The real problem our churches have is the immaturity of the adults in it. Whatever happened to Paul's idea of putting away childish things ?
