On behalf of London Christians, I would like to say a huge thank you to Debbie for an amazing job done today.
Amen to all that you said, Debbie.
You could almost feel a palpable send of relief/release in the room: Yes, it is okay to feel how we are feeling; we are not making any false "idols"; we don't need to work any harder at "preparing" for marriage; we don't need to feel bad at wanting what God created us to want, and desires - requires even - from us.
Thank you to everyone that came, thank you to Nick for being such an all-round rock, thank you to all at Proud Galleries and most of all, thank you to the Lord. This was Your event and You did - and will do - what Your will is regarding the aftermath.
Our next focus is likely to be also on men's outreach. It is unacceptable that the Body of Christ is so malfunctioning because it doesn't have a full component of men in it. This is something that we as the church have allowed to happen, and we as the church must repent and mend our ways.
Blessed be the name of the Lord.

"At last I feel normal!"

Comment from a guest that attended the Debbie Maken talk.
Isn't it scandalous that the church is making women feel abnormal because they want to get married and have a family?
Yet that is the reality of our present times.
But by the grace of God, it won't be for much longer!

It was a very interesting event with Debbie Maken. It is about time we get the church to hear our voice as single christians and her information is inspiring and glad I am not the only one complaining about the lack of help in the church.

Do you know that you are taking on something very, very major and large and I hope you get all the support that you will need to crack this.
Debbie's book is full of wisdom. It's stirred me up so much and brought to a head what I've wasted years thinking and believing.

Talking about wasting years thinking and believing, a comment has been posted on the blog of a certain prolific singleness writer by a 50 year old woman who wants tips on starting a social group to make friends with men and other women, while she waits "to meet God's best for my life in a husband."
What a tragic waste of a life! And the singleness writer must take her share of the blame for spreading the kind of false teaching that has led to this.
