Good song. The 'gift of singleness' teaching is in some ways like a narcotic, allowing people escapism from a painful situation. The answer is for single Christians to look their problems unflinchingly, see whether they have a problem with relationships, and if they do, get pastoral care from an organisation like Living Waters UK.
I agree, the "gift of singleness" teaching is like a drug. I often liken it to a placebo drug. If you believe in it, it can dull the pain of singleness to a degree. But of course it is nothing but a sham, a con, that has no basis in the Bible.
Thanks for the info re Living Waters. I didn't know they existed, but it looks like a much needed ministry to me. Worth investigating some more I reckon.
The song is amazing... So many young men are "searching". I only wish more Christians were concerned about them! I think we should ban Sunday morning services, and get out on the streets on a Saturday night instead. ;-)
Actually, single Christian women can do this themselves. Maybe they must?
Btw, the song is worth listening to two or three times. The words are so rich, so revealing.
